Hospital architecture has always reflected the state of health of its time. From pavilion-style buildings to the monolithic hospital block, it has accompanied every major medical, scientific and technological shift — until it reached this paradox: the faster you modernise, the sooner you become obsolete. As hospitals face ever-shorter life cycles, one question becomes unavoidable: is this acceptable in a model of sustainable urban development?

It is from this question that Groupe-6 architectes created and continues to lead #hopitaldufutur, a platform for reflection dedicated to understanding the transformations of the hospital. Its conversations bring together users, healthcare professionals and experts to collectively make sense of these changes.
