Transformation du bâtiment Gillette pour le Crédit Mutuel, Annecy

The head office of Crédit Mutuel Savoie-Mont Blanc occupies the former administration building of the Gillette factories in Annecy, dating from 1953 and emblematic of modern industrial architecture of the 20th century. It has been classified as ‘Outstanding Contemporary Architecture’ since 2003. Its conversion reveals and enhances the original building and the chiselled masonry of its openings, by purging the successive additions and insulating the building from the inside so as not to damage its modenature. Its enhancement includes a contemporary intervention that plays in contrast with the masonry elements, with a unity of colour that makes it identifiable, and extends the original contrast between light limestone and brass. The rotunda, a major heritage space, is preserved and enhanced by this intervention. This transformation, which meets the new standards of the tertiary sector decree, benefits users with the creation of bright tertiary floor areas and the opening up of shared areas, restaurants and terraces at the top, to offer exceptional views to all employees.
