At the intersection of several major access routes to the Presqu’île, the Place Nelson Mandela will host scientific research facilities. Two large buildings with curved screen façades contain the square: one is the OIC Tertiaire building. The glass façades of the two curved buildings reflect the landscape onto the central oval pool, amplifying the views of the mountains. OIC Tertiaire features a large portal connecting it to the OIC CEA building overlooking the park and the esplanade: this forms a shared reception area and meeting place providing access to the different research facilities overlooking the square. This outstanding complex is characterised by its large scale, the attractiveness of the showcase CEA building, and its views of the Vercors mountains.
