Instauring the dynamic of overall restructuring of the Ambroise Paré hospital in Boulogne, BAC is a building where functionality must be combined with adaptability: it will bring together functions (SAMU, SMUR, laboratories) currently located in Garches and in Boulogne-Billancourt and will temporarily accommodate certain functions due to the complex phasing of transformation of the site. Our project for BAC is organized with a simple and strong approach, freeing up the space on the ground floor: the SAMU/SMUR garage ideally readable and accessible on the ground floor, freeing itself from the constraints of the ramp. BAC offers laboratory spaces on free platforms, easily reconfigurable.
BAC is a resilient tool building: its structural definition, simple and systematic, is designed to promote the scalability of the building: its free platforms, its 1.35m frame, its non-load-bearing facades, facilitate future reconfigurations. With 4 free facades, BAC offers generous natural lighting and flexibility in setting up the program spaces throughout its life cycle.
Its rooftop overlooking the park offers a panoramic view towards Paris. On the local side, it hosts an urban agriculture garden, bringing together shared uses. Its north facade is animated by the regulation desk, at the top, which become a luminous beacon at night, a landmark which underlines the identity of the BAC building.
