Institut Lafayette, Georgia Tech, Metz

The Institute Lafayette is a strategic element of urban development in Metz, along the Avenue de Strasbourg. By its implantation out of alignment, its architecture marks the entrance to the town, keeps the urban front in training background and define a principle of urban implementation for Georgia Tech and TDF. Its architecture combines simple textures rich in contrasts volumes, arranging various perceptions of depths and transparencies based on the hours of the day. The plan organizes the three entities of the program around the axis crossing east / west consisting of hall, patio and meeting rooms. Laboratories, cleanrooms and offices (on two levels) are connected to the hall by straight and clear traffic.
