Car park with 1,600 places, General Hospital, Brest

A welcoming building for users, the car park is organised around a large interior garden where natural light and vegetation are present throughout. Its imposing massing matches harmoniously the entrance to the hospital, complying with its architectural guidelines, as well as the ones of the new cancerology building. The intention is to emphasise the integration of colour with the existing surroundings, the “lightness” of the architecture and the use of sustainable, resistant materials, allowing the building’s longevity. The parking areas are arranged around a vast planted patio. The external façades are clad in warmly coloured aluminium sheets, creating a kinetic play of colour while modulating transparency and permeability. The car park is topped by a largely green roof, as if its fifth façade.
