An exhibitions centre downtown
The project is set around a large hall, which can be divided but whose layout is designed for a single exhibition. The dividers are interspersed throughout a large overall layout that functions without any changes to the networks or other layout modifications. The architectural rhythm of the hall, underlined by the large beams that structure and illuminate it, initiates a north-south modenature that gives rhythm to the entire public space. The forecourt fits into this pattern, with an appropriate grid that allows the exhibition areas to be extended outside for a ‘bonded’ arrangement, while offering freedom, availability and the possibility of appropriating the public space in all circumstances. The transparency and interior/exterior continuity provided by the entrance hall and the large openings in the event space contribute to the overall legibility of the resulting space.
