The construction of a new garage for household waste for
the City of Paris is part of the ongoing project to rebuild the
Romainville/Bobigny household waste treatment centre,
which is being carried out by SYCTOM and designed by
Groupe-6 architectes.
It will provide parking for around 95 tipper trucks and space for staff. The project is divided into two separate buildings, separated by an internal street. At the entrance to the site, the slender support functions building, with its visible wooden structure, groups together on four levels the reception and support functions, the changing rooms and the social areas for all staff.
The two-storey concrete process building houses the workshops, warehouses, storage and service areas, as well as the staff car park. Thanks to their post-and-beam load-bearing
structures, the 2 buildings are flexible and designed to
adapt easily to technological developments, new functions
or organisational changes.
