Carbon is a French manufacturer with a European
dimension, forming a unique alliance of entrepreneurs,
industrialists and solar energy experts. Contributing to
the sustainable reindustrialization of France and Europe,
Carbon develops high-efficiency, ultra-low-carbon photovoltaic
modules. Its Fos-sur-Mer Gigafactory, Europe’s
largest integrated gigafactory, will enable largescale production
for the solar industry. The project stretches over
840 metres along the dock, creating an image of a campus
on the waterfront, and a green park to the east. Set over two
levels, the complex blends into the horizontal landscape in
a very simple yet generous gesture, with a surface area of
almost 220,000 m². The plot, crossed by a canal, is located
in a sensitive site where biodiversity mustbe preserved. The
central green axis that runs alongside it emphasizes the
perspective and enhances the site.
