Groupe-6, architects’ office, Grenoble

For its new office in Grenoble at the heart of the new Bouchayer Viallet district, Group-6 has designed a passive building, exemplary from the point of view of sustainability and offering light and warm working and living areas: opening onto a full-height atrium, the public garden and the grandiose landscape of Vercors, the open-plan areas and individual offices are supplemented by shared working areas and spaces for social interaction that provide varied and evolving configurations. The building is compact, with a thick, efficient facade pierced by long horizontal openings that frame the interior views and give it an understandable but powerful image. It has natural ventilation, a high-performance heating and cooling system based on the use of the water table and automatically regulated lighting and ventilation systems, for optimum energy consumption.
