The Crédit Mutuel headquarters, located on the Wacken site in Strasbourg, forms a tertiary campus of high urban and architectural quality, whose potential is to be revealed through restructuring. Its transformations over the years, guided by changing needs and staffing levels, have led to the successive addition of new buildings, leading to a loss of coherence and clarity on the site. The opportunity to restructure the existing buildings makes it possible to respond to new ways of working methods and to create a green campus focused on uses and biophilia. Recent studies have highlighted the increased performance of companies that incorporate elements of biophilia into their workspaces, with a 15% increase in employee satisfaction and productivity, not to mention the benefits in terms of image and attractiveness. Enhancing the site improves the efficiency and quality of the layout and intensifies the ‘campus experience’, redefined around a shared ‘Forum’ and its central garden, which brings together shared uses and serendipity. A vector of identity, it offers a new quality of life at work while efficiently responding to the shared use of common spaces (meetings, services). The high-performance, comfortable and bright workspaces are extended by large shared loggias on two levels, to bring employees together, and a rooftop terrace in the campus’s heart.
